Attention All Beauty Bloggers: HELP!!!!

Hello to all of the fabulous beauty bloggers here on WordPress! I need your help desperately so I’m sending out a Lil Red SOS. As you may know, I am the proud owner of extremely fake red hair. It’s safe to say that I have a mild obsession with my locks and I’m totally okay with it. Because I’m dedicated to keeping my herrr luscious at all times, the SOS has been sent because my hair is dry as a desert right now thanks to the winter cold. Let’s discuss, but first enjoy this ironic choice in music:

What I really need in my life is a good leave in conditioning product as well as a heat protecting spray or serum. I only wash my hair twice a month so a wash out conditioner just isn’t for me. Lucky for me, I’ve been blessed with hair that never gets oily or greasy so my semi annual washes help me in my quest to prevent color fading. I never really “wash” my hair either, I just put conditioner in, let it sit, and then wash it out. What I really would like is a great leave in product or anything really to help get some moisture back into my hair. I’m open to any and all suggestions because hair isn’t my forte at all.

Another product that I’m interested in is a heat protecting product. I flat iron my hair every day and frankly, it’s never been an issue until this past month when the temperatures have dropped. For all of the straightening that I do every day, I’ve never had dry split ends result from it so I definitely want to avoid that from now on. I also think that it would be a good thing to start using anyways with or without the winter cold effecting my hair.

You guys are probably reading this post and thinking “how does this girl even have hair left?” because to me, it sounds like it really should be damaged. But for over a year now, Ive been using the no wash technique and only during my last hair cut was the first time my stylist has ever mentioned split ends on my hair. I would love to get my locks back into the good graces of having a soft and sleek texture as well as nice and sharp ends as opposed to the jagged straggles I’ve had as of late. Any and all suggestions for a conditioning and heat protecting product are welcomed and encouraged!

To all of my beauty bloggers: I NEED YOU NOW!! If you have any pro tips on how to get my hair back to its normal ways, I would forever appreciate it! Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? What are some of your off kilter hair care techniques that you swear by? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

  1. My hair is a little more oily than yours and I dye mine lavender but I thought I’d offer a suggestion. For your flat ironing, blow drying, curling etc. I suggest got2b crazysleek hot smooth flat iron and blow dry lotion. It is really light, smells good, and protects my hair really nicely. It also comes in a triangular bottle so it is harder for it to get knocked off the counter.

  2. I have naturally curly hair so my hair tends to be quite dry most of the year….whenever it feels exceptionally dry, I usually put coconut oil all through my hair (making sure my hair is saturated with it) and then I tie my hair in a bun, put a towel over my pillow, and sleep with it in all night. But be aware, it doesn’t really absorb into your hair, so you would have to rinse and maybe wash it out in the morning depending on how your hair feels, but I’ll let you make that call ☺️. I’ve also heard that blow drying your hair or putting a shower cap over your hair to heat it up a little bit before you go to bed also helps your hair to absorb whatever you have on it, but I haven’t gotten to try that myself yet. It sounds like based on what you said about your hair you might have to do it a few days in a row. That always does the trick for me!

As for a heat protectant spray, sorry, I can’t help you there. The one I use is dove and it comes in an orange bottle, but it’s just okay. It does its job, but it doesn’t sound heavy-duty enough for your purposes. Sorry about that!

  3. You should find a multitasking product, wich gives hair moisture, and also give your hair the heat protection you need.I can recommend:
-LIVING PROOF perfect hair day 5in1 styling treatment
-ALTERNA HAIRCARE Bamboo Smooth Anti-Breakage Thermal Protectant spray

These products don’t leave hair greasy at all.

  4. I am afraid I can’t help you with products considering the big bridge between us, i.e, I being from Pakistan. The climate here is so very much opposite to yours. But can share a few DIYs 🙂

*Almond oil (100%pure) is something I swear by. I have seen a visible effect in my hair post its use. You must give it a shot.

*https://zkhan23.wordpress.com/2015/11/28/treat-your-hair/ Go through this post of mine. The second method ,I am sure, will help you out 🙂

Do share your experience with me if u try any of this 🙂

    Much love,
    Zk.

  5. I have naturally curly, color treated hairs, so I’m always in need of a little moisture! For heat protectant I use the CHI 44 iron guard, which you can find at TJ Maxx for a better deal. I love the HealthySexyHair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave in conditioner and would be great to spray in everyday! Also, I use a leave in conditioner mask from Herbal Essences that has brought a lot of moisture into my hair! You can find it for $2.50 at Big Lots!

  6. The struggle with red hair..and the struggle to get the right red tone that you like is way too familiar to me. 🙂 The best thing for now is to make some ponytails and buns more often so you can avoid the heat damage. Hair care part: leave-in conditioner – I always use spray from Schwarzkopf’s Gliss and oil – Loreal’s extraordinary oil. It takes time but it works. I hope that you will manage to repair your hair. 🙂
