Event Planners Can Help You Make Your Corporate Event A Hit

If you’ve been placed in charge of organizing an upcoming event for your company, you want to make a good impression. That’s a tall order, considering everything that goes into planning a big event and ensuring it comes off without a hitch. In addition to paying attention to every detail, you also have to stay within the event’s operating budget. This can be difficult, but the right help can smooth out the process.

Most people try to do everything piecemeal when planning an event. They rent a venue, rent equipment, arrange entertainment, schedule speakers, hire staff, and on and on. Fortunately, an event planning company can take care of many of these details, while helping to keep spending low. Additionally, when you work with an event planner Westport CT, you can customize services, so you won’t be paying for services that you don’t need.

When you hire event planners, they will visit your venue personally to determine your specific needs. This is essential so that they can supply you with the right multimedia equipment to perform well in the environment. Otherwise, you may find that your equipment isn’t broadcasting sound loud enough to reach the farthest parts of the venue. You’ll also want to make sure that video monitors can be seen by all of your guests. Your event planning specialists will know how to give you a quality system without compelling you to overspend on more expensive machines that you may not need.

Your event planners will also pay close attention to lighting, seating, and other arrangements to help create an ideal setting. Since they will remain on-site for the event, you can rest assured that backup equipment will be available if anything happens to fail. This can be a major concern, especially if your event relies heavily on audio/visual equipment.

Hiring event planners can take a great burden off of your back, allowing you to concentrate on other aspects of planning the event. Leaving the set-up and management of the venue to the professionals lets you devote your efforts to arranging guest speakers, sending out invitations, and taking care of other details. Together with your event planners, you’ll be able to stay within your budget and pull off an exciting and memorable event for your company.

Learn To Live For Today And Plan For Tomorrow

Learn To Live For Today And Plan For Tomorrow

We all walk a fine line with our finances. We don’t want to spend our time doing nothing, we want to enjoy ourselves and experience life’s little luxuries from trips away to fun purchases. If you constantly favor saving over spending, you’re going to have a pretty boring life. At the same time, though, we have to prepare for tomorrow. We need to think about making sure that we are going to be financially secure ten days, ten months, or even ten years from now.

It seems that we are under constant pressure to plan for tomorrow. Just look at the housing market. As soon as you hit your twenties, there will be people around you, telling you to buy a home. A home gives you some form of financial security sure, but it also ties down your finances. Now, for years, you’ll need to fit in mortgage repayments into your budget. These can be incredibly expensive and will make paying for those luxuries that you love just that little bit harder. As such, it might be wise to not buy a home until you have the income where you can easily cover this cost and still live a full life. Or, simply prepare to accept the fact that, at least for a short time, you won’t be able to afford those fancy trips or that new car. You can learn more about whether you can afford to buy property on www.cnbc.com.

The lesson here, is that it’s a balancing act. It’s about balancing what you need with what you want. It’s about balancing what you must spend with what you’d love to purchase. It’s about planning for the future while still enjoying the present so that one day you’ll be able to look back at the past with no regrets. So, let’s explore some of the ways you can do this, and we can start by thinking about budgeting:

How Should You Budget?

Budgeting is actually easier than a lot of people realize. You need to start by working out exactly what you make per month. This is the total amount you have to play with, and it should include all of your incomes. So, if you have a side hustle, make sure that this is counted. Unless you would rather see that as extra money.

Then, subtract all of the costs that you are aware of. This includes bills, rent, mortgage repayments as well as an average food cost. So, you might budget fifty a week or more for food. Now, the amount you have left should be halved. Half of this must go into savings. Set yourself a goal to save each month and put this as a direct debit on your account. Just like a tax, it will leave your account at the end of each month. This cuts out the choice of hanging onto it and spending it. Congratulations, you’ve just made a smart choice on how to prepare for your future.

The other money you can spend however you like. Put it towards your holiday, use it for presents or nights out. It’s your choice, but you have to remember that this is all you have to spend. Now immediately, you might notice a problem. There isn’t actually that much to spend is there?

time1

Budgeting is key!

Play With The Numbers:

This is where you need to start cutting costs on things that you need so you can afford things you want. An example of this would be something like energy bills. We all have to pay energy bills, but they should be more manageable if you can go a little more green. Make changes to your home to save energy, and you’ll have a little extra to spend each month. It won’t be much, but it will make a difference. Since you have already set a target, add that to your spending budget for now.

You can also think about boosting your income. What you’re looking for here is a passive income. There’s no point in taking on a second income to enjoy your spare time if you’re going to end up with no time to spare. There are various options for passive incomes from the stock market to property. Research a few and find out which one will benefit you and suit you the most. If you’re good with numbers, you might want to consider forex trading, which is basically investing in the value of different currencies. By predicting patterns, you can make a fortune in this market without even trying.

Preparing For Disaster:

Of course, your budget is based on your income. Any hit to your income will kill both your spending budget and your savings. Worse still, it might mean that you have to use your savings to cover expenses that you can no longer afford. You can see how this would be an issue. Suddenly, you don’t have any money in your account for the future. This is where great budgeting advice that is found on www.lifehacker.com comes in handy. But how do you handle this situation?

You have to prepare for any disaster that can be foreseen. You’re probably thinking, wait a minute – unexpected costs can’t be foreseen. That’s why they’re unexpected. It’s not true. You might not expect to develop a disability, but you can forsee that it’s a possibility so you should plan for it. Anyone could develop a disability. You might be involved in a car accident, you could fall at work, or it may even develop due to biological causes. Since it could happen, you should plan for it. According to www.insurestat.com, doctors should definitely do this because anyone working in the medical field who develops a disability will probably be unable to work. As such, they should protect their income. You can protect your income with disability insurance and guarantee that you are always on roughly the same level of pay. Regardless of whether you can work or not.

This isn’t the only disaster you need to prepare for. You have to consider the worst-case scenarios that could impact your finances. Medical bills, for instance, are one of the greatest causes of debt in the USA today. You can plan for this by buying into the right health coverage plan that provides everything you might need.

time3

Insurance is a must.

Don’t Always Wait For Tomorrow:

Tomorrow doesn’t always come. Or rather, you can miss too many tomorrow’s and before you know it you’ve run out of time to do what you want. This may sound morbid, but you could die tomorrow. So, you might constantly be putting off that holiday to a point where you can easily afford it and when you’ll still have savings. But what if that day never comes? Most people do live their lives on an average, basic income. They never reach that 100K a year paycheck, and yes you can wait until retirement and use your 401K. But, after you’ve retired, you might not have the energy or the health to do everything you wanted. Don’t let life pass you by while you wait around for the right moment to do something.

time4

 #justdoit

Live For What You Love:

Finally, you need to make sure that you’re not spending your hard earned money on things that you don’t want and that you don’t need. This happens all of the time. We’ve already mentioned one example, and that’s property. Buying a home can be right for some people. But, if you are still moving around and haven’t settled, it’s just a waste of money and adds plenty of stress to your life that you don’t need. Instead, you should continue to rent. While it might be dead money, it can be far cheaper than purchasing a home that you may never pay off.

Ultimately, you have to live your life in a way that makes sense for you and financial purchases should be part of that decision. Some people spend their whole life traveling around the world, work by freelancing, and never once think about settling down into a comfortable routine. This site, www.justonewayticket.com, has some great advice on spending your life traveling. Could this be the lifestyle of your dreams? Perhaps! And as long as you have a plan for tomorrow, you can live however you want to today.

It turns out that my mom went back to TJMaxx the following day to get this here scarf for me, because I did like it a lot! Plan Your Dream Bathroom Interior For 2018

Standard
Plan Your Dream Bathroom Interior For 2018

The festive season is here, and before long you’ll be opening Christmas gifts and enjoying quality time with those you love. The holidays are often a time where you receive presents from loved ones and friends, and bath products, fancy shower scrubs, and special toiletries are often a go-to gift for many. New toiletries that you wouldn’t usually buy for yourself can be a real treat, and many enjoy a relaxing soak in their tub or a refreshing cleanse in their shower space. However, if you flinch every time you walk into your bathroom environment; it could be time to focus on its renovation and ensure that 2018 is the year that you enjoy spending time in there.

Tired bathrooms with old broken tiles and dated sinks can leave you in a bad mood every morning, especially as you’ll have no other choice but to brush your teeth and wash your hair in there. Therefore, it’s time to open up your laptop, get your notebook and pen ready, and start planning what you’ll need to organize regarding how you want your fresh bathroom to look and function. The following are some ideas, inspiration, and advice for those who want to embark on creating their ideal space in the new year so that a long soak in their bath becomes a regular thing for 2018:

The Functional Side:

This might be the bit where you lose a little interest; however, it’s crucial that you invest in the functionality of your bathroom above all else. The building and plumbing work cannot be a last minute decision just because you’ve put so much emphasis into the style and design (that’s coming later). Therefore, you’ll need to start by hiring a reputable building company and a plumbing specialist who won’t overcharge you for the work that they carry out and who can ensure that your bath water is running smoothly for the foreseeable future. The plumbing and pipes in your bathroom space need to be secure and well maintained so that you don’t get any surprise leaks in the new year. Leaks or plumbing issues can lead to permanent damage; which will have wasted both your money and time. It’s essential that you find companies you trust to do the job, and are reassured that you’ll receive quality service and results.

The Decorative Side:

This is the part that you’re probably thinking about the most. If you’ve invested wisely in the building and plumbing side of things, you can focus on the style, layout, and design of the environment (Yay!). You can be thrifty and creative with your choices, so don’t just run towards the nearest bathroom showroom and buy the whole suite from one place; this can be a costly mistake. Take your time to source items, even if that means waiting a little longer for your dream bathroom to happen. Check out online auction sites, reclamation yards, and vintage warehouses for vintage bathtubs, secondhand sinks, and spare boxes of tiles. You’d be surprised at how well you can clean up a tub so that they look brand new, but retain all the charm and character of their era, without the ridiculous price tag. The same goes for showerheads and taps; these are so much more affordable second hand and will polish up nicely so that you end up with a bespoke and unique space to soak up the bubbles.

Mixing and matching your tiles will create a style statement in any space, so consider an array of prints, sizes, and shapes for your bathroom. You’ll be able to save money by purchasing boxes, or even individual tiles from those who have bought too many for their own interior. It won’t matter if they are all different if you go with the flow and decide to enjoy an eclectic space in which to shower.

Bathroom accessories will be next on your shopping list, so make sure that you take the same approach as with your tiles; source them from an array of places and mix it up for ultimate bathroom charm and character. Mirrors, vases, toothbrush holders, and soap dishes can all make an interior statement, so don’t stick to the usual store-bought items that everyone has; go vintage instead.

The more creative you are with your choices, the more money you can save on your bathroom renovation project; you can utilize this and put it towards the right team of people to fit your appliances and ensure that it’s functional for a long time ahead.

Planning On Moving Abroad? Make Things Easier On Yourself!

Planning On Moving Abroad? Make Things Easier On Yourself!

There are a lot of things to consider when moving overseas. Currencies change, cultures vary, and there are always moving arrangements to consider. Somewhere between all of the planning, packing, and stress, there are a few key factors that tend to get overlooked. Blending into the local environment isn’t always as simple as it might sound. This article is here to help take some of the stress off of your shoulders and help make your transition an easy one:

abroad1

Planning For The Unexpected:

No one can see the future, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t plan ahead for some minor issues. In the same way you’ll take extra care to pack your personal belongings, take a moment to consider what health coverage you will have in the event that you become sick.

Depending on your new destination, it can be difficult to know where to go for advice when you feel sick. Unfortunately, Medicare coverage plans do not travel with an individual when they move overseas, unless you’re planning on moving to a U.S. territory like Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. It might seem overwhelming when you consider having to find new health insurance, but don’t panic just yet.

The vast majority of countries offer an all-inclusive, government-sponsored health care plan. That means doctor visits, hospitalization, prescriptions, and more are all covered under one plan that usually costs a small percentage of your income. Even if you opt for a private plan instead of a public one, the cost is often one-fifth less than it is here in the U.S.

Should you get sick and need to see a doctor, you will require the same medical care that you would here. Thankfully, that coverage is easily obtained and you won’t have to worry when the unexpected happens.

Adapting To The Culture:

There is no single sure-fire way to adapt to every culture on the planet, but there are a few things that you can practice that the majority of cultures do take part in. One of those things is to focus on living a little greener or eco-friendly. While we might not think about it, the amount of waste that we throw away here in the U.S. is astronomical compared to several other first world nations.

A simple rule of thumb is to take something like metal, plastic, or even cardboard and reuse it wisely. In most cases, that just means recycling it properly. Countries like Austria and Germany have the world’s leading recycling programs, which means that it is a large part of their culture.

While you might never get used to some customs, choosing to take part in a country’s recycling habits can help you blend in with them in a heartbeat. It shows that you care about the same things they do. Plus, it’s great for the environment!

Eliminating Some Stress:

It’s easy to pack a couple of bags when heading on vacation, but moving all of your belongings to a new country can seem like a nightmare. Just like you would turn to UPS or FedEx when you need an important package delivered, why not turn to international shipping experts when moving abroad?

What used to be a complicated and expensive process has been made much simpler by a few companies who specialize in shipping luggage overseas. This will help you to avoid extra costs on airline baggage fees (Which can add up fast.), while taking some the burden of moving off of your shoulders. One less thing to worry about is always a good thing.

Choosing to move overseas is a big decision that requires a lot of planning and work. Thankfully, there are a few things that you can prepare for ahead of time to make the process go over as smooth as possible. Happy travels!

Bath Bomb Blitz: Intergalactic Planetary Edition

Helloooo everyone and happy Hump Day! Last night, I treated myself to using the other bath bomb that I got during my Lush shopping trip a few weekends ago. Other than the “DAD” one that I purchased (lolol), I also went with the galaxy bath bomb. I’ve seen many a post about this little wonder product so I just had to give it a go to see if it looks as cool in real life as it does on my laptop screen. SPOILER ALERT: It did! Take a look:

ip1ip2ip3ip4ip6ip5ip7ip8ip9

To me, the Lush bath bombs don’t smell a lot like anything – but that’s okay! These products are still a lot of fun. As soon as I dropped the galaxy bomb in the water, it changed almost instantly. The deep indigo, pink, green, and white began swirling about my tub so quickly and didn’t fizz out for at least fifteen minutes. As much as I loved my DAD bomb for humor’s sake, this one definitely took the cake!

Another pretty surprise was the glitter, that you can kind of see above in the second to last photo. The bright white glitter scattered throughout the water looked like little mini spiral galaxies in a dark night sky and it was so cool to see. As soon as the water was ready, I turned off the main lights in my bathroom, eased myself into the tub, and spent my evening floating around in outer space.

Like my DAD bath bomb, this galaxy one left my skin feeling so supple and hydrated. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the dark blue water didn’t stain my tub, which was definitely a nice bonus! I’m a bit sad that I have no more bath bombs from Lush to play with, so I guess that’s what my Christmas wish list is for! Hey, it’s only five or so months away, right?! 😉

So there you have it, the newest issue of Bath Bomb Blitz: Intergalactic Planetary Edition! What is your favorite bath and body care product? How do you like to pamper yourself? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

What To Expect On Your Graduation Day – A Plan Of Action

Standard
What To Expect On Your Graduation Day – A Plan Of Action

Graduation day is a monumental moment day of your life; it’s the first true time you step out of a sheltered existence and become an adult. It’s an incredibly hectic, but exciting time. Friends and family are all gathered around you to tell you that they’re proud and making jokes about your gown. Some of them are no doubt holding back the tears. The administration and staff of the University are also there and energetically shaking hands on a job well done. But, all the buzz can produce stressful moments, so here is a guide to take you step by step, of what you can expect on the big day:

Organizing Your Gang: Graduation days can be like rock concerts. There’s a huge glob of people in the center and almost immediately when you turn up, you’re fighting not to get lost. You can get separated from your group if you haven’t planned in detail beforehand about where you’ll meet and where you guys will stay during the whole ceremony. So communicate effectively with your college friends and family. Make sure that everyone is together and in one place, so that it’s easy to find each other. Use landmarks such as a large tree, a building entrance, or lots of you could wear the same color hat or clothing.

During The Ceremony: When you’re on stage, be respectful that you’re sharing this moment with thousands of other students. You’ve probably seen videos of people acting silly at their graduation on social media. Don’t be that guy or gal; this is a moment of prestige. You worked hard. Remember the long nights of frantic studying, the upset stomach before an exam or deadline, remember how you worked part time to pay for your tuition? Exactly. Use this time to hang your head high and accept your rightful praise, but you’re in a hat and gown – not the court jester’s attire.

Take A Break: The graduation ceremony is going to be long, very long. Be sure that you and your group have something to eat and drink, like some high-carb snacks and natural sugars like fruit or a smoothie. Refrain from eating large amounts until after the ceremony, as you’ll be standing a lot and you don’t want to be the one who throws up from being too nervous or has to go to the bathroom just as your name is being called up. #embarrassing

The after party is where you can eat to your heart’s content. Graduation cakes are a fantastic way to buy a large food item that everyone can share and celebrate your success with. Although the cake will be large, thousands save at Kroger’s bakery, so it won’t put you out of pocket.

graddd1

Ayyyyy!

Take Pictures In Advance: Taking the perfect picture can be stressful when there’s so much going on around you. You want to look back at this time and be proud of that moment and subconsciously frowning or not looking into the lens can ruin the special day only all too late. Take pictures before the ceremony starts. Fix your gown and your frown at the same time, while there’s no pressure to imitate a ‘still-life’ painting. Then, you’ll have plenty of time to evaluate the pictures and retake some as necessary.

Graduation day is the best, but it can be incredibly stressful! Make a game plan beforehand, though, and you’ll be good to go!

Change Of Plans

Heyyy everyone! There’s going to be a slight change of plans for tonight’s American Horror Story: Hotel post because I’m feeling like ass right now. Because of this all of a sudden illness, you can expect to see a synopsis on the newest AHS episode tomorrow morning or afternoon. Of course I’ll be watching the epi and taking my notes but I’m in desperate need of a good nights sleep. In a perfect world, I’ll be able to get right to bed afterwards and get rid of this little bug that I’ve come down with. Sorry for the inconvenience! Much love. -Sarah

The Planning Nook

Standard
The Planning Nook

Sundays are one of my favorite days of the week. It’s such a chill, lazy day and most importantly Sunday evenings have been dubbed the official hang out time for me and my dear friend Kate, whom you’ve read all about! Kate has recently moved into her own apartment, and it’s the most perfect little place in the world. In her apartment there’s this fantastic room with her piano and a big comfy chair that we named the “Planning Nook”. The whole idea of the nook is exactly how it sounds, to plan fun and exciting goals for ourselves and the future. We had a really inspiring Planning Nook session last night which I would love to tell you guys all about!

The night started out with a trip to Sweet Frog, which is the most delicious frozen yogurt ever. If you’ve ever been to Menchie’s it’s basically the same thing as that. Kate opted for a chocolate filled dish while I went for the fruity froyos, which I’ve never tried before. I’m so glad I did though because it was absolutely amazing. I now know my new favorite sweet treat which is a blessing and a curse! Here’s a drool worthy pic of our frozen yogurt before we annihilated it!

IMG_1355[1]

YUM!!!! Sweet Frog has an array of toppings to choose from for your yogurt, which includes these fun little things called “poppers”. (If you look at my yogurt dish they’re the orange bubble looking thingies) Anyways, these poppers are SO GOOD! The best way I can describe them is that the little bubble is filled with fruit juice. They had mango, strawberry, and pomegranate poppers to pick from…better believe I put all three of them on my froyo! #turndownforwhat

After our Sweet Frog treat, it was off to Giant Eagle to pick out some wine. Kate is extremely educated in the wine department, and by that I mean she picks out wine that isn’t Barefoot whenever we’re in need of a bottle! Ha! She picked out a delicious made in Ohio wine (#represent) Sweet Revenge by Wolf Creek. It was a blush wine, which usually isn’t my all time favorite, but I really enjoyed it! It was fairly sweet and fruity, so it definitely got the job done! (If you’re interested in learning about Wolf Creek wine, you can visit their website at: http://www.wineryatwolfcreek.com/wines.php)

Once we got our wine, it was off to the Planning Nook! If you notice my featured image, the wine glasses that we were drinking out of was part of my Christmas gift to Kate, in honor of our 2016 trip to Europe! I brought my Victoria’s Secret journal that I got for free (it pays to spend way too much moolah at VS!) to write down all of our ideas in, and I would love to share a few of them with you!

IMG_1361[1]

  • Make a rough draft itinerary for our trip to Europe
  • Brush up on our French until said trip
  • Have a coffee date and only converse in French at the end of the year
  • Take a weekend trip to Chicago
  • Make a collaborative blog piece for lifewithlilred

There were quite a few more, but those were my particular favorites, especially the French coffee date goal. When I was in high school, I was very good at French, unfortunately after I graduated I had no one to speak it with, so I essentially lost all of the progress I made in speaking the language. I would love to be at least semi fluent in it again, especially before our trip to Europe. Kate’s mother is a photographer, who will be teaching her craft to Kate these next few months, so some of the pictures you’ll be seeing on here eventually will be done by her, so that’s very exciting!! A lot of great things are going to be happening in 2015, and I’m so thrilled to share a lot of it with one of my best friends!!

What are some of your goals for 2015? What’s one language that you wish you were fluent in? What’s one skill you’d like to learn in this upcoming year? I’d love to hear from you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Happy Monday! -Sarah

Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Swatch In Glitter Fern Green

Standard
Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Swatch In Glitter Fern Green

Hi everyone! Today, we are going to discuss the last glitter shade in the Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions palette. It is a fern green shade and it’s pretty-ish, but just not the right color for me. You can see the eyeshadow in the top right hand corner of the palette along with the rest of the colors below:

huda1

Now, let’s take a closer look:

fernfern1fern2

^^^ The first heart is the eyeshadow wet and the second one is when it’s dry.

Sadly, this color is another one that I don’t think I can see myself wearing. Although it’s a nice eyeshadow, the hue is just too light for my liking. And it looks rather dull, despite the twinkling glitter. With really pale skin and a preference towards dark clothing, my makeup always has to be more saturated, because anything less just makes me look sickly.

I’m a bit disappointed with this palette. I feel like it was a good idea, but the colors weren’t executed well as far as color quality goes. And, the literal quality of the eyeshadow isn’t the best to me, either. It’s really dusty and you need a lot of the product to get complete coverage. There are certain shades that I do plan on using, but I can easily say that the eyeshadows that I’ve used from drugstore brands have provided a more satisfying experience than this high end one.

What is your favorite drugstore brand when it comes to makeup? What about your favorite high end brand? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
